Support for elected political leadership is paramount for any leader to succeed/achieve in his/her governance,this assertion was made by the Executive Director for the Results for Africa Institue (RAI) Joyce Nyamweya during a three day draft planning workshop programme on CIDP and its operationalization at Marsabit Cavallera Pastoral Centre.
Madam Nyamweya stressed on the importance of civil servants and members of the public (electorates) to support their elected leaders to give aid in whatever way they can for the leaders to deliver in their leadership but opting not to critique in their governance, reminding the public that no one is an island.
The top county leadership which include; County Executive Committee members, Chief Officers, Directors and some principal officers who participated in the training were educated on the significance of 4As (Agenda setting, Analysis, Accountability and Access), 4Ps (Patriotism, Professionalism, Passion and Paced) and 4Es (Efficiency, Effectiveness, Equitability and Ethics) as they execute their public service delivery.
In reference to service delivery, to mention a few participants were informed that it is not about the number of boreholes drilled within the county but the number of water systems that touch life of the rural women that matters.
County priorities, enablers, drivers, service delivery organization units/area and way forward were also discussed at length.
According to one of the facilitators, Mr. Baridi Manyasi Monitoring and Evaluation is vital in every undertaking of government operation as it provides feedback based on tangible evidence. He added that M & E provides evidence on the impact of a given programmes, projects or policies. Therefore M & E was understood as a powerful tool for tracking implementation progress of programmes or projects.
To increase government revenue collection, it was observed that partnership with KRA was critical.
