The Marsabit County is characterized by arid and
semi-arid conditions faced numerous challenges exacerbated by climate
change. The County is exceptionally extreme vulnerable to impacts of a
changing climate given that most livelihoods and Economic activities are
intricately tied to climate sensitive sectors. In recognition to critical
importance of addressing climate change actions the County Government of
Marsabit through Department of Water, Environment, Climate Change and NRM has
embrace locally led climate change adaptation through financing locally led
climate change actions (FLLoCa). In partnership with FLLoCA (which is World
Bank funded project) the sector successfully implemented locally led climate
change action through:
