I had the pleasure of receiving a courtesy call from the FLLoCA Program team, who are currently in Marsabit County providing technical support on integrated audit, investment documentation, communication and monitoring including environmental and social audits and monitoring of County Climate Resilience Investments Grants (CCRIG 1)

These audit and monitoring exercises are part of a nationwide effort covering all 45 beneficiary counties, aimed at ensuring that projects funded under the Climate Change Resilience Investment Grant (CCRIG) are implemented in compliance with environmental and social standards, align with County Climate Change Action Plans, and contribute meaningfully to building community resilience against climate change impacts.

Through this process, completed investments are evaluated for performance, sustainability, and impact, in line with the Environmental Management and Coordination Act (Cap 387) and the Program’s operational guidelines. With approximately 90% of the 2,245 pipeline investments already completed, such technical support is critical to ensuring that these initiatives continue to serve our communities sustainably and effectively.
