Marsabit County Principal Administrative Secretary Mr Godana Diqa has defended Governor Mohamud Ali's development strides saying the county government of Marsabit will implement various water projects across the county in an effort to address perennial water shortages.

" The government has plans to address water scarcity in a strategic way by building infrastructure to supply water." he said

He said Governor Mohamud's understand the pain people are facing as a result of lack of water and that he had both short and long term plan.

He said the distribution of plastic water tanks across the county help in reducing the problem of water shortages being experienced in the region especially during the dry period and drilling of boreholes and construction of dams also help in reducing conflict brought about by water scarcity and reduce congestion in the few available water sources.

The residents have been trekking more kilometers in search of water while herders migrated to the neighbouring counties in search of pastures and water.

" The construction of dams and boreholes help improve the social life of residents." Said PAS

Speaking during Dub Goba FC Grand party, principal administrative secretary Mr Godana said Governor Mohamud-led administration boasts key infrastructural developments in health, agriculture, education, water and road while mentioning that scholarship program, medical training college, sololo level four hospital and Loiyangalani fish factory are some of the key projects governor's would be remembered for generations to come.

He disclosed that Governor Mohamud Ali through the department of Health equipped the health facilities as well as installing necessary medical machines.

He said governor Mohamud in his second and final term in office will enhance public service delivery in all sectors.

" Governor Mohamud's administration will seek to improve the quality of life for all marsabit residents regardless of whether they voted for him or not." he said 

To address unemployment among the youth which has remained a big challenge in the county, Mr Godana said Governor Mohamud Ali immediately he took over the office he made free vocational training in the county and introduced internship program, added that governor want to leave a rich legacy and firm foundation.

The principal administrative secretary said Governor Mohamud is committed in ensuring all the ongoing projects are completed before expiration of his tenure.

While articulating on governor's manifesto for marsabit residents, he said the county boss give  more focus on peaceful and harmonious coexistence for marsabit citizens to pursue their dreams of happiness and prosperity in a peaceful environment.

He said the governor's development records speaks volume and he not only fulfill his promises but he exceeded expectations, embodying a leadership style that embraces tranquility and composure, demonstrating that resounding achievements can be attained without fanfare.

He advised young people to embrace sports for a healthy living and also to reduce restiveness in the society.

He said it's high time for the youth to shun drug consumption and embraced sports so they can be self-reliant and become role models in the society.

The principal administrative secretary said Governor Mohamud Ali is determined to support diverse sporting activities to promote social cohesion in the region, noted that sport is a powerful tool for socio-economic empowerment.

He added that the youth should understand that drugs can result in drug addiction and challenged parents and guardians to entice their children to embrace sports so as to be fit and have a bright future.

" We should encourage our children to embrace sporting activities rather than engaging in illicit acts of drug abuse. Youth should embrace sports as an instrument of self actualization." he advised 

He thanked the organizers of the tournaments which he said positively impacted on the lives of the youth and assured that county government would encourage and support them to realize their dreams of becoming football superstars in the future.

He said governor Mohamud's administration is committed to transforming the lives of the youth by supporting their talents and allocate sufficient funds in the sport sector to ensure youth have a platform to showcase and make a living from their talents.

He used the occasion to lash out those spreading propaganda that was aimed at tarnishing governor's administration.

" Even though governor Mohamud Ali did not deliver 100 percent of his promises, those with sound memories will confirm marsabit county is not where he found when he took over the power." he said

Sagante Jaldesa ward MCA Amos Wako alluded that sports have played a significant role in reducing youth indulgence in unconstructive habits like drug abuse.

He said, through sports different communities in the constituency come together to interact which help in promoting peaceful coexistence.

He said his moved to organize tournament was in his fulfilment of his agenda for the young people which aims at supporting youth's talents through sports.

He called on well-wishers, county and national government to support his efforts to assist youth talents in football, volleyball and others which would see the initiative rise to greater heights.

He advised young people against drugs, asking parents to help protect their kids against drug abuse by giving them the fact before they are in a risky situation.

" You're a role model for your kids and your views on drug abuse can strongly affect how they think about them . Talking about drugs as part of your general health and safety conversation." Said Sagante Jaldesa MCA

He called for leaders to work together to champion development and deliver equitable services to the residents, noted that the election is over and elected leaders should embrace one another to serve the electorates.

" Leaders should not harbour electoral differences but forgive one another and work together to promote service delivery and development.

He said the in-fight between leaders would make it hamper the implementation of development projects and also affect lobbying for additional resources for the people from National Government.

The minority leader in the county assembly said he will raid unity of purpose by relentless servicing the people elected him and working together with all leaders regardless of their political divide.

He urged youth to exercise sobrieties and restrict and act as promoters of peace and unity and shun leaders who misused them for their own selfish gains.

He observed that only few elders are willing to speak out about social ills whenever it arises because traditional values and norms are no longer given the seriousness it deserves unlike in the old days.

Youth leaders and coach Eng. Wako Sora has urged youth to be disciplined and guard against crime and immoral behavior that could jeopardize their future.

He noted that the future of the county rested on the young people and it was necessary for them to grow up with a sense of discipline.

Eng. Wako asked young people to desist from vices such as drug and substance abuse and urged parents and guardians to nurture their children into responsible people as they grow before they regret the consequences of their bad behavior.

" Parents and guardians need to nurture their children into responsible people and should not allow them to be used to foment trouble which would affect their future.
