World Health Organization (WHO) donation of supplies worth Sh2.3 million to the County Government of Marsabit.

The World Health Organization (WHO) Kenya donated catalytic equipment and supplies worth Sh2.3 million to the County Government of Marsabit. This generous donation aims to enhance access to quality sexual and reproductive health services across the county. The donation was handed over by Dr. Rita Arogo, representing WHO Kenya, to the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Health Services, Hon. Malicha Boru, who expressed his gratitude and highlighted the ongoing collaboration between WHO and the County Government.

In addition to the donation, the County Health Department together with Chief Officers Dr. Arero Halkano and Omar Mohammed, Deputy County Secretary Mr. Tari Doti and the WHO team engaged in discussions on strengthening the Maternal, Perinatal Death Surveillance and Response (MPDSR) system. Marsabit remains one of the counties facing a high burden of maternal and perinatal deaths, as well as teenage pregnancies, making it a priority for WHO interventions.
